Let the atom be a worker, not a soldier
The central part of Pripyat is rich in high-rise buildings. In particular, on the panorama stands the famous "White House", two sixteen-story buildings with the arms of the USSR and the Ukrainian SSR, as well as the well-known Tolyatti L-shaped nine-story building with the inscription "Let the atom be a worker, not a soldier".
This house, or rather, the inscription of metal letters, repeatedly in the epicenter of attention. First, the word "a" was defiantly removed from the word "Yes". Then the inscription was disassembled in general, and various jokers laid out from letters that lay on the roof of the nine-story building, all sorts of words. Finally, in 2013 the nine-storey house was returned to its historical name.
1986-year Pripyat was considered a modern city with a developed and well-thought-out infrastructure. In the city there was absolutely everything. At the time of the explosion at Chernobyl, Pripyat was only 16 years old. In particular, a new amusement park was built in the city: the circuit, the shooting range, the carousel, the swing, the observation wheel. The grand opening was planned for May 1.
And the tragedy at the nuclear power plant destroyed these plans, and on a swing never skated a single child. One of the darkest places in the park is the circuit, which is pictured on the panorama. Machines have never been launched, and for 30 years they have rusted under the open sky. It is believed that this is one of the most "dirty" places in Pripyat - it is very fonet moss, which overgrown coverage of the circuit.
The backyard of the Palace of Culture "Energetik"
"Energetik" is located next to the central park avenue, on its panorama you can see its backyard, as well as a view of the Ferris wheel. "Energetik" was built in 1970 on a model at that time in the USSR project. The Palace of Culture has accumulated a whole complex of buildings.
It housed a hotel, a pharmacy, a department store, a deli, a cinema, a gym, a bar, and, in fact, a house of culture. Directly in the palace was based a large number of circles, there were performances, concerts, performances of groups, and in the evenings - a disco called "Edison-2".
It is noteworthy that in the lobby of the palace of culture is a fresco performed in the style of socialist realism. It was used as a texture of the popular game "S. T. A. L. L. K. E. R.".
Shadows of children
On this panorama you can see the world-famous graffiti, which depicts the shadows of children. There are many such drawings on the walls of buildings. This is what you see on the wall of the Palace of Culture "Energetik". Some real graffiti can be seen in the famous toys Call of Duty 4 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. In the photo you can see the buildings destroyed by time "Energetika".
Palace of Culture "Energetik"
In the Palace of Culture before the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, a local radio station was actively working, to which anyone could fall. In the "Energy" was quite powerful and modern at the time equipment. Just before the entrance to the building, many demonstration competitions of radio amateurs were held.
"Energetik", like most of the buildings of that time, was decorated with white marble, which in some places has been preserved in the palace until now, and inside you can still see the beautifully decorated carved frescoes
Park Alley and Restaurant
The restaurant "Polesie" is located in the central square, near the house of culture "Energetik". Before the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the restaurant was considered one of the most elite in the city. On the panorama you can see in detail the current state of the building. By the way, if you look closely, you can see one of the graffiti on it, which appeared long after the accident.
